About Our Katy Location
A Tradition of Excellence in Katy
The Katy location of Clutch Automotive is built on a foundation of integrity and community care. Originally founded on June 1, 2002, as Mission Car Care, the shop revitalized a struggling Bright Auto, transforming it into a trusted provider of automotive services. For 12 years, Mission Car Care operated successfully on Franz Road, thriving on its commitment to excellence and guided by the Proverb that a good name is more valuable than riches. In 2014, the shop expanded to 19895 Clay Road after acquiring Auto Care USA, marking a major milestone in its growth. When the business was sold to Clutch Automotive in 2021, it joined a family of shops dedicated to continuing this legacy of quality and trust.
Meet the Manager
In October 2023, Al Prince became the General Manager of Clutch Automotive’s Katy location, bringing 22 years of industry expertise and a passion for community service. Al’s faith-based approach to leadership aligns seamlessly with Clutch Automotive’s values, allowing him to foster growth and unity within the shop’s team. Known for his ability to connect with others, Al is committed to brightening every customer’s day while inspiring his team to reach new heights.
Beyond his professional role, Al is an active pastor at Christian Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Houston’s Trinity Garden neighborhood. He and his wife, Akilah, are raising their son, Royal, and eagerly anticipating the arrival of a new addition to their family in April. A former boxer with a love for music, movies, and culinary exploration, Al views Clutch Automotive as more than a job—it’s a chance to extend his ministry and serve both his team and the Katy community with integrity and care.
